Around Diriamba
We were in Diriamba for the dressing of the saint. Each year while our
group is in the area, the patron saint of Jinotepe is dressed and paraded
toward Diriamba. The patron saint of Diriamba is dressed and
ceremoniously marched toward Jinotepe. The two saints meet in a town on
the road between Jinotepe and Diriamba, thus culminating the ceremony and
festivities. This festival lasts three days and is very important to the
local people.
