If you would like to contribute to NE VOSH, contact our Chairman,
Joe England, MD,
Jamestown, RI
Joeflute@aol.com
Contributions to the
efforts of Northeast Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity
to aid the medical, dental, visual, and pharmaceutical needs of the people
of Central America come in many shapes and sizes. The eyeglasses
and hearing aids we dispense, the dental supplies required to aid those in need, the clothing,
medicine, and vitamins we distribute are donated.
Monetary donations are accepted, one way to donate in
this way is to sponsor the airfare of one traveling student.
If you can't join us for a mission, please help in
whatever way you might by contacting our Co-Chairman directly at the contact
information above. One way to contribute is to
simply Join NEVOSH. You will have the option of being on a group
mailing list to be updated about upcoming missions. VOSH International is a 501(c)3 tax-deductible
charity.
Northeast VOSH would
like to Recognize the following Individuals and
ORGANIZATIONS for their contributions that
supported our 2007 trip to Monimbo, Nicaragua.
I would like NEVOSH to thank
Tim Baker.
He is our local pharmacist in Jamestown, RI. His wife Nancy went on
many missions with us. She sadly died last year. He has started a
VOSH
scholarship in her name. The first recipient was this year's
president of the SUNY Optometry students, Attefa Sultani.
He
also donated a great glucometer and tons of strips for the medical
team this year. In addition every year he donates meds and gives
others at cost. --E. Tiexera

Michael Andreozzi
- President

Beltone New England
Michael donated
audiological equipment and supplies as well as the loan of expensive
testing and programming equipment. He also authorized our repair lab
to recondition nearly 100 used hearing aids that our staff had
collected throughout the year. In addition, he allowed four of his
key staff members to take time off and participate in this mission.
In essence, 4 clinics were shut down (no income) for over a week so we
could attend this mission. --K. Startz

Todd Murray
– President

Beltone North America
Beltone North America
donated over 153 brand new hearing aids for us to dispense on this
mission. Needless to say, these instruments were keys to our
success. --K. Startz
|
David Sanzone
- National Sales Manager
Egger Corporation
David spearheaded a
significant donation from Egger Corp to include enough impression
material and applicator guns to make ear molds for over 250 ears.
They also donated humidity kits and cleaning kits for ear molds.
--K. Startz
|
Tom Bagley
– President

Ray-O-Vac
Tom orchestrated the
donation of nearly 2 pallets of batteries to supply the hearing aids
we dispensed with 2-3 years of batteries. There were enough batteries
so we can store them and give them out to patients from past missions
to keep them hearing.
