Thursday night, after
the final day of the clinic, the entire group eats together for the last
time. On this occasion, we heard a few words from Carl Sakovits, Joe
England, the Mayor of Nandaime, and Luis Velasquez.
Carl pointed out the
hard work of the NEVOSH board, who work all year to make a smooth mission
happen for that week.
Joe thanked everybody
for their hard work and dedication.
Kevin Somerville read
the patient totals for everyone's benefit.
 The mayor of Nandaime
expressed his sincere gratitude on behalf of the people of Nandaime for the
work we had done during the week.
 Luis Velasquez
translated for the Mayor, presented NEVOSH travelers with a silver pendant showing a map
of Nicaragua, made in his shop in Masaya. He then let everyone know
that he has no desire to be in politics.
Bruce Fischer regaled
us all with two a capella songs. The NEVOSH singers joined in for the
chorus of "Don't Cry for Me Argentina".
 Carl
presented Rocco and Lara with a hand carved angel to honor the nuptials.
 Joe and Carl
officially handed over leadership of the mission to the Minister of R&R,
Rocco Robilotto.
