Dr.
Robert Schwartz, Founder Northeast VOSH
The
success of this year's mission and every previous mission over the past fourteen
years is due in large part to the man who had the vision to start Maryland VOSH,
which has evolved into Northeast VOSH. Dr. Robert Schwartz of Annapolis,
Maryland, USA founded this chapter in 1986 with the mission of giving vision and health to people in need. Over the years, over
40,000 people have been seen by this Chapter of VOSH.

This
year's mission to La Concha, Nicaragua is dedicated to the memory of Dr.
Schwartz. He couldn't be there in person but he inspired us all to give
the best care conceivable.
Dr
Schwartz wrote the mission summaries featured in our VOSH
history section.
The
Bob Schwartz scholarship trust has been created from the generous donations of
many VOSH members and supporters. Proceeds from this fund will pay for the
air travel costs for one student optometrist per year. The fund is open
for continuing contributions.
